The first thing you need to know about me is that I am a freelancer.
I am a freelance business, conference & diplomatic interpreter, and I am a freelance translator. And I think it’s fairly safe to say that I have become rather attached to the many advantages the freelancer lifestyle has to offer.
For one thing, I love the freedom that comes with. Traveling, photography and the opportunity to discover new destinations and experiment with new recipes tend to make it all the more worth it, as do the people I get to meet along the way, and the friendships I get to enjoy.
I am a good listener, and I my travels and professional experience have taught me a lot about communication, its different goals, and how to make it work. And I always do my best to make it work.
As a conference interpreter I work between English and Russian, as well as from French into Russian and English in business, conference, and diplomatic contexts.
With more than 10 years of experience in the field, I have worked for governments, international organisations, NGOs and CSOs, as well as major media outlets and private businesses, and have become a firm believer in the idea that in this line of work it’s never ‘just’ about the words.
It’s the ideas and people that matter the most, their reasons, their goals, and their aspirations. That is why I make it my priority to work closely with my clients to fully understand their needs and communication goals, so that I can then offer them the best tailored solutions. I can ensure and guarantee complete confidentiality, and I have a close team of trusted colleagues with whom I work on a regular basis to ensure the best possible quality and higher terminological accuracy.
If you need someone to convey your message, both your words, and their meaning, you’ve come to the right place. It would be my greatest pleasure to help you succeed in communicating you thoughts, solutions, and ideas in my working languages.
And if you are looking for a language professional with a different language combination, I have wonderful, trusted colleagues I would be delighted to recommend.
A few years ago I also made the fatal mistake of trying to learn Spanish and Italian at the same time. I fell in love with both, and succeeded in mastering neither. But I’m working on that, as well as German.
And then I also translate, offer interpreter training, organize multilingual events on-site as well as on-line, and try to remember to update this blog.
Thank you for visiting, don’t hesitate to tell me what you think, and let’s stay in touch.
